Primary prevention, or stopping violence before it starts, is a simple enough concept on the surface, but to be able to successfully implement prevention strategies in your community, it is helpful to understand the concepts that drive prevention.  The ANDVSA Statewide Primary Prevention Orientation is a seven module training designed for prevention staff and AmeriCorps VISTA members at ANDVSA member programs. The modules clarify primary prevention and how to put theory into practice in Alaska through community mobilization, implementation, and evaluation.
