Advocacy
ANDVSA’s Advocacy Initiative works to enhance the capacity of domestic violence and sexual assault programs to provide accessible, culturally responsive, and trauma informed services for survivors.
The Advocacy Initiative provides:
- Advocacy resources for both the public and ANDVSA member programs, including “Real Tools: Responding to Multi-Abuse Trauma”, available online in English or Spanish
- Basic and advanced training for domestic violence and sexual assault advocates, both online and in-person
- Technical assistance and resource development for ANDVSA member programs
- Specialized training for advocates, community agencies and law enforcement on domestic violence, sexual assault, multiple abuse issues, including the intersections of trauma, mental health and substance use
Online Course
ANDVSA hosts an online course that covers most of the foundational topics necessary for new advocates or individuals wanting to better understand the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.
