Client Advocate\/Prevention Specialist<\/strong><\/p>\nCFRC is hiring for two full-time Client Advocate\/ Prevention Specialist positions!<\/p>\n
Hours:<\/strong> Full-time position up to 40 hours per week, hourly employee<\/p>\nReports To:\u00a0<\/strong>Executive Director<\/p>\nAdvocacy Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Assess immediate safety of victims.<\/li>\n
- Coordinate appropriate follow-up services and safety checks.<\/li>\n
- Provide guidance in areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and crisis intervention.<\/li>\n
- Client advocacy.<\/li>\n
- Village Coordination.<\/li>\n
- Attend appropriate workshops and trainings.<\/li>\n
- Coordinate crisis advocacy services as needed.<\/li>\n
- Maintain appropriate records.<\/li>\n
- Be informed and current on pertinent laws and regulations.<\/li>\n
- Assist in volunteer recruitment and training.<\/li>\n
- Participate in public relations and presentations.<\/li>\n
- Assist clients with ATAP, Denali Kid Care, SSI, and SSID Application process.<\/li>\n
- Take on-call for the 24-hour Help Line\/Text line.<\/li>\n
- Respond to on-call SART\/CAC calls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Prevention Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Establish needs as indicated by the community.<\/li>\n
- Coordinate and facilitate all CFRC prevention programming and activities Collaborate with other community agencies.<\/li>\n
- Educate community about CFRC prevention programs.<\/li>\n
- Coordinate and co-facilitate community Surveys\/ Assessments, revise Community Prevention Plan and ongoing evaluation of all CFRC Prevention Programs Communicate with Executive Director on progress\/problems etc.<\/li>\n
- Attend all prevention training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- People orientated experience preferred, will receive on the job training.<\/li>\n
- Some knowledge and\/or interest of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, family dynamics and crisis counseling.<\/li>\n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n
- Reliable<\/li>\n
- Organized<\/li>\n
- Self-motivated<\/li>\n
- Ability to follow through with projects.<\/li>\n
- Ability to work with limited oversight.<\/li>\n
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.<\/li>\n

- Basic Knowledge of Interpersonal Violence (DV, SA, Child and Elder Abuse).<\/li>\n
- Knowledge of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Prevention.<\/li>\n
- Knowledge of Social and Ecological Model.<\/li>\n
- Knowledge of CFRC and community an asset not required.<\/li>\n
- Complete 40-hour Crisis Intervention, SART\/CAC and Mandatory Child Abuse training within first 6 months.<\/li>\n
- Other Duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Education:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nBachelor’s Degree in human service field preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n
