Our organization seeks to resist and eliminate violence in all its forms, and we recognize that those among us with targeted identities are the most likely to be harmed by such hate-fueled violence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We mourn the five people killed &#8211; Daniel Aston, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, Derrick Rump and Raymond Green Vance &#8211; along with their friends, communities, and families. It is especially devastating that this shooting occurred so close to Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day in which we were already mourning the loss of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming individuals whose deaths were the result of colonial constructed beliefs embedded in individuals and our society. It is additionally devastating that this act of violence occurred in a place which is meant to be a beacon of safety and joy\u2013where members of the queer community can go to dance, to love, to live authentically and freely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> All forms of systemic violence are connected and intertwined. Our words, actions, and work are the greatest tools we have in the fight to end violence and hate.
