Youth from across Alaska have begun to imagine and create a future without violence through the ‘When I am an Elder’ campaign. This campaign was based on a poem written by a Bethel Teens Acting Against Violence (TAAV) member in 2001, which brings into focus the possibility of a world without violence. The enthusiasm spread across the state and nationally with youth sharing their own ideas about creating healthier communities in Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Saxman, and Barrow.
