Client Advocate/Prevention Specialist
CFRC is hiring for two full-time Client Advocate/ Prevention Specialist positions!
Hours: Full-time position up to 40 hours per week, hourly employee
Reports To: Executive Director
Advocacy Responsibilities:
- Assess immediate safety of victims.
- Coordinate appropriate follow-up services and safety checks.
- Provide guidance in areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and crisis intervention.
- Client advocacy.
- Village Coordination.
- Attend appropriate workshops and trainings.
- Coordinate crisis advocacy services as needed.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Be informed and current on pertinent laws and regulations.
- Assist in volunteer recruitment and training.
- Participate in public relations and presentations.
- Assist clients with ATAP, Denali Kid Care, SSI, and SSID Application process.
- Take on-call for the 24-hour Help Line/Text line.
- Respond to on-call SART/CAC calls.
Prevention Responsibilities:
- Establish needs as indicated by the community.
- Coordinate and facilitate all CFRC prevention programming and activities Collaborate with other community agencies.
- Educate community about CFRC prevention programs.
- Coordinate and co-facilitate community Surveys/ Assessments, revise Community Prevention Plan and ongoing evaluation of all CFRC Prevention Programs Communicate with Executive Director on progress/problems etc.
- Attend all prevention training
Qualifications:
- People orientated experience preferred, will receive on the job training.
- Some knowledge and/or interest of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, family dynamics and crisis counseling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable
- Organized
- Self-motivated
- Ability to follow through with projects.
- Ability to work with limited oversight.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic Knowledge of Interpersonal Violence (DV, SA, Child and Elder Abuse).
- Knowledge of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Prevention.
- Knowledge of Social and Ecological Model.
- Knowledge of CFRC and community an asset not required.
- Complete 40-hour Crisis Intervention, SART/CAC and Mandatory Child Abuse training within first 6 months.
- Other Duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in human service field preferred, but not required.
