SART Nurse Examiner/$40k Sign-on Bonus
Position Title: SANE/SART Nurse Examiner
Department: SANE/SART
Reports To: SANE/SART Manager
Purpose of Position:
To conduct medical-forensic assessment, examination and documentation (including forensic photography and evidence collection) for adult, adolescent and pediatric patients reporting a history of sexual assault or abuse.

Essential Functions:
- Performs medical-forensic assessment, examination, patient care, and documentation per the SANE/SART Program Policies & Procedures and Medical Standing Orders.
- Develops a discharge plan of care that addresses the patient’s needs (medical, emotional and safety) and that contains appropriate referrals.
- Communicates the exam findings to the patient and the SANE/SART Manager. Communicates with law enforcement, OCS, and CAC when appropriate, per program P&Ps.
- Participates in the SANE On-Call Schedule as needed by the department.
- Participates in Quarterly SANE Team meetings for case review, quality assurance, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- Participates in Monthly CAC MDT meetings and SART MDT meetings for case review, quality assurance, quality improvement and clinical education.
- Provides testimony in court as an expert/fact witness when subpoenaed.
- Participates in a preceptor ship with a certified SANE-A or SANE-P to achieve clinical competency and qualification to apply for certification as SANE-A, SANE-P.
- Travels to villages for education/training of clinic staff and community.

- Knowledge of the process of the medical-forensic exam, including forensic photography, evidence collection and documentation
- Knowledge of the purpose and function of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) for Adult/Adolescent patients and the Multidisciplinary Team for Pediatric patients.

Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances.
- No travel required
