The Shared Services Specialist is a member of the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault’s Capacity Building Program Team. The Team is responsible for developing and delivering training and assistance to enhance workplace performance and support professional growth within the member organizations. The Shared Services Specialist will assist member agencies with projects, HR regulations and procedures, grant management and reporting, and various administrative functions. This position can be based anywhere in Alaska where the internet and an airport are accessible. The position requires approximately 30% in-state and national travel.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Under limited supervision, the Shared Services Specialist will:

  • Collaborate with the Capacity Building Program Team members to provide ANDVSA member agencies with training and technical assistance, and serve as subject matter expert in the areas of HR procedures, grant management and compliance, financial management processes, and organizational administrative functions
  • Support member agencies in grant management efforts, reporting, budgeting, and compliance
  • Conducts necessary research to develop and deliver professional development material
  • Keep all training curricula up to date and identify best practices
  • Assist in the development of an Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and areas for improvement within member organizations
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and feedback to track progress and effectiveness of training programs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, nonprofit management, human resources, or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Extensive knowledge of organizational finance management, regulatory standards, budgeting, and various tools for financial reporting
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in grant management, compliance requirements, and reporting
  • Experience in administrative coordination and HR functions (preferably within a nonprofit or community-based setting)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the ability to teach, train, and mentor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other virtual tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
  • Willingness to adhere to the ANDVSA’s philosophy

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Public Administration)
  • 4 years of federal grant management
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience in the non-profit sector or with grant-funded programs
  • Understanding of unique needs and challenges faced by rural communities
