Raising Voices, Strengthening Communities
Our communications and outreach efforts are designed to amplify our message, engage communities, and drive change. We are committed to raising awareness and mobilizing action through targeted campaigns and initiatives, including:
Strengthen Campaign
The Strengthen Campaign: Uplifting Communities, Preventing Violence
The Strengthen Campaign is a statewide initiative led by the ANDVSA Prevention Team with a powerful purpose: to build stronger, safer communities across Alaska by engaging men and boys as allies in the movement to end domestic and sexual violence.
This campaign is grounded in the belief that prevention starts with connection, conversation, and community accountability. By encouraging men to take an active role in promoting respect, equity, and nonviolence, we can shift harmful norms and create a culture where all Alaskans thrive.
What the Strengthen Campaign Offers:
- Community Education & Outreach – Events, workshops, and materials that raise awareness about the root causes of violence and the role men can play in prevention.
- Positive Role Modeling – Highlighting the voices and actions of Alaskan men who are showing up for their families, communities, and one another in meaningful ways
- Storytelling & Media Campaigns – Uplifting real stories from across the state that reflect strength through empathy, accountability, and care.
- Skill-Building Opportunities – Training and tools to support men in having conversations about masculinity, relationships, and respect.
- Partnerships with Schools, Tribes, and Organizations – Collaborating with communities to meet local needs and amplify prevention efforts with cultural relevance and impact.
The Strengthen Campaign is about more than awareness—it’s about action. It’s about standing up, speaking out, and strengthening the bonds that make our communities safe and resilient. Together, we are shifting the narrative and working toward a future free from violence.

Youth Engagement
Youth Engagement: Building Youth Power Across Alaska
At ANDVSA, we believe in the power of young people to shape a more just, equitable, and violence-free Alaska. Through our youth engagement efforts, we connect with young leaders across the state to support their growth, elevate their voices, and provide meaningful opportunities to lead change in their schools, communities, and beyond.
Youth engagement at ANDVSA is about more than one program—it’s a commitment to creating space for youth to be seen, heard, and involved in the movement to end domestic and sexual violence. We partner with schools, tribes, and youth-serving organizations to foster environments where young Alaskans can thrive as advocates, educators, and changemakers.
Our Youth Engagement Work Includes:
- Facilitating workshops and events that spark critical conversations around consent, relationships, and community values
- Offering leadership development opportunities for youth who want to grow their advocacy and public speaking skills
- Co-creating campaigns and community projects with youth voices at the center
- Providing technical assistance to adult allies who are working to engage youth in meaningful and trauma-informed ways
- Connecting youth to statewide initiatives, helping them see their role in a broader movement for social change.
Whether it’s a classroom conversation, a peer-led initiative, or a youth-driven campaign, our goal is to support young people in becoming confident leaders who are equipped to prevent violence and promote healing in their communities. We’re here to support all youth—not just future leaders, but the leaders they already are.

Social Media Campaigns
Staying Connected: How We Use Social Media
At ANDVSA, social media is more than just a platform—it’s a powerful tool for connection, education, and change. Through our presence on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, we reach thousands of Alaskans each year with messages of hope, healing, and action.
Our social media strategy is grounded in our mission to end domestic and sexual violence by raising awareness, providing reliable information, and connecting individuals and communities to the support they need.
Here’s how we use social media to support our work:
Raising Awareness: We use our platforms to shine a light on the realities of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of gender-based harm. We share survivor stories (with permission), national and local statistics, and calls to action that help build understanding and compassion.
Connecting Survivors to Support: Our posts often include direct links to hotlines, legal assistance, shelter information, and other vital resources. For many survivors, social media can be a first point of contact and a gateway to help.
Engaging Youth and Advocates: From campaign takeovers by young leaders to event promotion for legal advocates, our content is designed to reach diverse audiences and spark real engagement.
Social media allows us to meet people where they are—on their phones, in their feeds, and in their daily lives. Whether we’re launching a prevention campaign, uplifting a community event, or reminding someone they’re not alone, we’re proud to use these platforms to foster connection and amplify the movement.
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay informed, inspired, and involved.
