Membership Eligibility

ANDVSA’s organizational members include agencies, programs, or nonprofits based in Alaska, focused on eliminating domestic violence, sexual assault, and related abuse. To be eligible, members must support ANDVSA’s vision, mission, values, and purpose, adhere to state and federal confidentiality laws and standards, and ensure that those they serve have a voice in program decisions.

Legislative and Policy Education Efforts

Members stay informed about and can influence pending policy and legislative actions that impact Alaska’s response to domestic and sexual violence. They receive guidance on educating their boards, staff, and communities about these policies and how to engage effectively with local and state legislators to advocate for their causes.

Committee and Network Opportunities

Members can participate in one of ANDVSA’s three standing committees: Programs and Services, Policy and Legislative, and Memberships and Partnerships. These committees identify challenges local programs face and share successful strategies for serving victims and survivors more effectively.

Training and Networking Opportunities

Members have access to a wide range of ANDVSA training sessions, including basic and advanced advocacy training, legal advocacy, confidentiality, substance abuse, and prevention. They can also participate in the 40-hour online APU course and other events. Travel subsidies are available for meetings and training, including lodging for the spring legislative session in Juneau and the summer retreat.

Access to Resources

Members can participate in statewide and national teleconference training, allowing them to receive training without the need for travel. They also have access to ANDVSA’s Basecamp platform, which hosts recorded webinars, forms, and resources on prevention, advocacy, policy, and legal topics. ANDVSA staff provide ongoing technical assistance, research, and resources.

Public Awareness Efforts

Members can engage in ANDVSA-sponsored statewide public awareness events, contributing to the organization’s efforts to raise awareness and educate the public about domestic and sexual violence issues.
