Congratulations to our December Volunteer of the Month, Kevin Sullivan!
Kevin is a civil litigator at North Star Law Group, where his practice includes family law. He has worked on four ANDVSA cases! Kevin grew up outside of Boston and attended the University of Massachusetts: Boston where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice. He attended Suffolk University Law School and graduated in 2022. Kevin doesn’t remember this, but there is written proof that in elementary school he wrote that he wanted to be a lawyer!
When deciding where to go after graduating, Kevin was encouraged by a colleague to get out of the “Boston bubble.” He plugged his law firm preferences into his school’s job search engine, and North Star Law Group, LLC (“NSLG”) came back as a near perfect match. He has been at NSLG ever since, and he cites the firm’s staff as playing an integral role in his ability to take on pro bono work. Kevin says it’s never just him working on a case; he receives help and support from the firm’s paralegals and fellow attorneys.
Kevin finds the process of volunteering with ANDVSA rewarding as you can work with the same person for several years and the progress that you witness is “night and day.”
Kevin’s high school motto was Vince in Bono Malum (conquer evil by doing good), and Kevin fully believes that we need to “identify what’s wrong and try to do good to fix it.” He sees his ANDVSA work as doing just that.
Kevin recently finished various trial so he’s looking forward to relaxing a bit. In his spare time, Kevin and his wife teach Sunday School for 5th and 6th graders, and he is already looking forward to summer!
Thank you for all your hard work, Kevin!
