John Revis

March Volunteer Attorney of the Month: John Revis

This month we are proud to spotlight John Revis, a solo practitioner who has been a generous partner to ANDVSA for the past several years.

John first connected with ANDVSA by attending our annual CLE while working on divorce cases at another firm. When he later opened his own practice, he began taking cases from ANDVSA and has shown up consistently ever since. Now practicing family law almost exclusively, John takes a significant number of low bono contract cases and also recently accepted his first pro bono protective order case.

Senior staff attorney Katy Soden shares, “John has been a super star low bono attorney for a couple years now. He takes so many of our contract cases and says yes to pretty much every single thing I ask.” In an area of law where we get a lot of “no’s,” ANDVSA is fortunate to work with someone so willing to help.

For John, these cases are hard to turn down, not because they’re easy, but because they matter. Helping someone move from a dangerous or unstable situation to safety is the kind of work that reminds him why he went to law school in the first place.

After 10 years enlisted in the military, and time working in oil field construction, John pivoted to law school when the industry slowed down. A graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law and raised on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, John has built a career grounded in service and impact.

Outside of his practice, he enjoys painting and is still hoping to successfully take a vacation someday (his last attempt turned into a trial instead).

We’re grateful for John’s willingness to keep saying “yes” and for the survivor-centered support he brings to this work.
